The Atascadero Elks Lodge #2733 was incorporated on September 26, 1987. The Lodge started at the AARP Building, then moved to the Grange Hall for their Lodge meetings. The Elks property was bought in 1988 at 1516 El Camino to build our own Lodge. After 17 years of fundraising and still supporting the community, we finally broke ground in September, 2003.
The Lodge was built by volunteers and contractors who helped us make this possible. Our membership has grown from 313 in 1987 to more than 500 members today.
On the 17th anniversary of our Lodge, we had our ground-break ceremony for our current Lodge building. In April, 2007 and more recently April, 2023, we were recognized as an All-American Lodge.
Under the Elks national umbrella, there are 49 state organizations, each divided into several districts. The Atascadero Elks Lodge belongs to the West Central Coast District, which in turn belongs to the California-Hawaii Elks Association.
